“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”
About me
I am a Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and I have been providing adults with psychotherapy for 6 years. My private practice includes working with people struggling in profound ways to resolve issues, including depression, anxiety, driving anxiety, traumatic stress reactions, flashbacks, disturbing dreams, recurrent negative thoughts, physical pain, dissociation, complex childhood trauma, and single event trauma.
Currently, I am completing a Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of Windsor. I am in placement at The Relationship Agency in Oshawa, Ontario. Psychotherapy has been a life-long calling for me, and after struggling with and resolving many of my own personal issues from my adverse childhood in psychotherapy, I returned to university in midlife to study Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson University) in order to work towards becoming a psychotherapist. I earned a bachelor’s of social work degree in 2018, and began working as a psychotherapist immediately upon graduating. Social Work is an anti-oppressive practice (addressing racism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, sanism, etc) has had a profound effect on my practice.
Past and ongoing psychotherapy-related trainings and courses include Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, grief and bereavement education, trauma-informed therapy. I belong to the Ontario Association of Social Workers and participate in on-going social work education.
